Connecting terminals, shaping wire runs, setting gauge, fuses and lengths, and reading the calculations & validation panel.
Making a connection
Click a terminal on one component, then a terminal on another, and a cable is created between them. Terminals stay clickable even when zoomed well out, and Escape cancels a wire in progress. Wires are anchored to the terminals themselves, so dragging a component drags its cables with it — connections never come loose.
To shape a run, select the wire and double-click it to add a bend, drag the bend handle to move it, and Alt-click a handle to remove it.
Wire properties
With a wire selected, the properties panel sets its colour, its gauge from standard metric sizes (2.5 up to 120 mm²), a run label, and its length in metres (used for the wiring schedule and costs).
Fusing: if the wire lands on a component's internal fuse holder, the panel notes it is protected there and directs you to set that fuse on the component. For a fuse holder physically on the cable, use the Inline fuse field (for example "60 (MEGA)"). If a run genuinely needs no fuse, tick "No fuse — intentional" to acknowledge it and silence the warning.
Calculations & validation
The calculations panel (docked right or opened from the toolbar, depending on your settings) computes a live budget for the system — continuous and peak load, daily watt-hours, battery autonomy and charge balance — plus per-wire results: current, voltage drop in volts and percent, a recommended cable size and a recommended fuse rating.
Validation warnings flag undersized cable, missing fuses, exceeded terminal current, incompatible system voltages, excessive voltage drop, missing gauges, dangling or self-looped wires, mismatched terminal wire sizes, and missing or oversized internal fuses. Hovering a wire row highlights that wire on the canvas.
The results are a design aid, not certified engineering advice — verify against your local regulations before building.
