To-scale off-grid · 12–48 V

Wire your system to the exact millimetre — before you cut a cable.

Off Grid Builder is a to-scale layout designer for campervan, boat and off-grid cabin electrics. Draw your boards, drag in real-size parts, wire the terminals, and get live gauge, fuse and voltage-drop calculations as you go.

How it works

Three steps from blank board to buildable plan

  1. 01

    Draw your boards

Sketch the real mounting surfaces — a bulkhead, a battery box, a switch panel — as to-scale polygons. Every millimetre is exact at any zoom.

  2. 02

    Drag in real-size parts

Pull batteries, MPPTs, inverters and busbars from a manufacturer-sourced catalogue. Footprints and terminals match the datasheets, so if it fits on screen it fits in the van.

  3. 03

Wire it and let the maths run

Connect terminals and get live gauge, fuse and voltage-drop calculations as you go — then export a 1:1 PDF, DXF and a full wiring schedule.

Why it's different

Not a diagram tool that happens to draw wires

To-scale, to the millimetre

1 unit = 1 mm everywhere. Boards, footprints, terminal offsets and wire thickness are all real dimensions — the drawing is the build.

Real electrical calcs

Correct cable gauge, fuse rating and voltage drop for every run — the safety maths, not a guess.

Exports that print 1:1

PDF, PNG, DXF and a wiring CSV listing every cable: run, gauge, fuse, length.

A curated, sourced catalogue

Batteries, MPPTs, inverters, DC-DC, wind and generator inputs — with real footprints and terminal layouts.

Guided or blank canvas

Questions

Before you start

Why $19?

Designing and browsing examples is completely free. The one-time $19 unlocks saving and exporting one installation — no subscription, no per-export fees.

Do I need an account?

Browsing examples and the parts catalogue is open to everyone. Designing your own system needs a free account — the one-time $19 only comes in when you save or export it.

Can I keep editing a paid design for free?

Yes. Once an installation is unlocked, you can edit, re-export and refine it as much as you like at no extra cost.

What do I actually get?

A to-scale wiring layout, live gauge/fuse/voltage-drop calculations, and exports: a 1:1 PDF, PNG, DXF and a wiring schedule CSV covering every cable.

Know it fits, and it's safe — before you cut a cable.
